Let someone know you're thinking about them with large and luscious blooms in dreamy colors that will last forever! Make 6 frosted paper peony blooms and 6 buds with leaves, perfect for home, office and as a gift for that special someone. We supply everything you need, just grab a hot glue gun, a scissors and a vase if you want to arrange them like we did and let’s get started!

Step-by-Step Instructions

Hints and Tricks: Note that each flower requires 5 petal pieces for each individual flower (i.e. 5 larger petals, 5 sepals, smaller petals, etc.). Only the yellow stamen center will use one piece.

Making the Peony Flower:

1. Gently punch flower petals, center, and leaves from paper.

2. Use the curling tool to shape the edges of the yellow stamen center. To use the curling tool, simply slide the paper between the sharper side of your curler tool and your thumb, like a Christmas ribbon, to add curl to your paper.

3. Bend the tip of one floral wire and cover in hot glue. Roll center fringe onto wire with curled edge, moving inward; glue along the way.

4. Use fingers to fluff the flower center.

5. One by one, place petals and sepals on top of a soft surface (i.e. a towel, a folded rag, a foam pad or an unused sponge); then roll the round wood dowel around the petal in a circular motion to create a cup shape. Then use the wood dowel around the edges of the petals to create a ruffled look.

6. Start with the smallest petals and cross over bottom slits in each petal, then glue in place.

Glue underneath the flower center on floral wire. Continue to glue individual petals from smallest to largest, staggering each row.

7. Slide a green flower back up floral wire; add a dab of glue near hole and press in place.

Making the Peony Bud:

1. Crumple two paper circles to form a small ball. Glue onto the bent tip of floral wire.

2. Glue three peony bud petals to wrap around the paper ball, staggering each layer.

3. Slide larger sepal up floral wire; add a dab of glue near the hole and toward edges and press in place.

Making the Leaves:

1. Use the curling tool to shape leaves.

2. Glue 24-gauge floral wire to the base of the leaf, adding a second leaf at an angle to cover wire.

3. Repeat with remaining leaves or glue leaves under flower blooms.

4. Cover wires with floral tape wrapping the leaf stems to the flower stems together.

Repeat the process to create 6 peony flowers, 6 leaves, and 6 peony buds.

Arrange: To arrange your bouquet, place the peony flowers in your vase first. Then, place the buds and leaves to fill in the space between the peony flowers.
