What comes with my kit:
Latch Hook Tool
Canvas with Pre-Printed Pattern
Precut and Presorted Acrylic Yarn (8 Colors)
Backing Fabric
16" Pillow Form

This modern latch hook pillow is a great project to do while watching your favorite show or listening to a good audiobook. The kit has everything you need; just grab a scissors, sewing pins, and a needle & thread for finishing.  Let’s get started!

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1) Start in the lower left hand corner of the latch hook section and work left to right, bottom to top. You’ll be switching colors often as the pattern dictates, so make sure to have each yarn color on hand. Take one piece of the pre-cut yarn that coordinates with the color on the hand-painted canvas.

2) Fold pre-cut yarn in half to create a loop.

3) Holding the ends of the loop, push the hook down through the first hole and back up through the hole above it.

4) Wrap the ends of the loop between the open latch and hook. Pull the hock back to close the latch.

5) Release the ends of the yarn and pull the closed hook back through the loop.

6) Gently tug the ends of the yarn to tighten the knot.

7) Continue until the latch stitch section of the pillow is complete.

Finishing Pillow

Your pillow top is complete— congratulations! You’re just a few steps away from completing your Latch Stitch Pillow.  Grab some scissors, your sewing machine, and some sewing thread and lets get this pillow finished. If you don’t have a sewing machine, feel free to hand stitch this in the same manner.

1) Cut away the excess canvas, leaving a ½” (1.27 cm) border from the last rows of knots (½” = about 2 squares).

2) Trim the fabric backing piece so it’s the same size as the trimmed pillow top.

3) With the right sides together, pin backing and pillow top together.

4) Stitch directly over the outside rows of knots around the pillow edge with 1/2”seam allowance.

Keep any loose yarn ends toward the center of the pillow top. Pivot at the corners and leave a 6” to 8” (15.2 cm - 20.3 cm) opening along one side.

5) Trim each corner diagonally ¼” (6.3 cm) from the stitch line. You can zigzag stitch or serge the seam allowances together (optional).

6) Turn the pillow inside out.

7) Stuff the 16”x16” (40.6 cm x 40.6 cm) pillow form into the stitched pillow. Be sure to push the corners of the form into the corners of the pillow.

8) Fold under the seam allowances at the opening. Pin and sew the pillow opening closed.

Toss your creation on your favorite chair or on your bed to add personal flair to your space.
